Are you new to Warhammer 40,000 tournaments and want to try your first one in a relaxed, welcoming environment? Join us for the Neophyte 1k Tournament — a 1,000-point event designed for beginners and casual players.
This is the perfect opportunity to bring your army, roll some dice, and enjoy three rounds of friendly competition with fellow hobbyists.
Event Details
- Date: Sunday 31st August 2025
- Time: 10:00am – 6:00pm
- Points Limit: 1,000 points
- Army Building: Valid list as per Games Workshop rules (via the Warhammer app). If you need help with list building, organisers are happy to assist.
- Painting: Armies do not need to be painted, but there will be Best Painted awards.
- Who Can Join: Open to all, with a focus on beginner and casual players.
What to Bring
- Your 1,000pt army list (printed or on the Warhammer app)
- Dice, tape measure, codex/data cards
- Good vibes and battle cry of your choice!
Format
- Games: 3 rounds of matched play
- Missions:
- Hammer and Anvil – Take and Hold (5 objectives)
- Dawn of War – Take and Hold (5 objectives)
- Diagonal Deployment – Multiball (5 objectives)
Scoring
Primary Objectives
Take and Hold (Rounds 2 onwards):
- 1 VP for holding an objective outside your deployment zone
- 1 VP for holding more than one objective outside your deployment zone
- 1 VP for holding more objectives than your opponent
Multiball (Rounds 2 onwards):
- At the start of the turn, defender rolls a D6.
- On 1–5: that numbered objective is the Multiball.
- On 6: all objectives are Multiballs.
- 1 VP per objective held
- +1 VP per Multiball objective held
- +1 VP if holding more objectives than opponent
Secondary Objectives
- Slay the Warlord: 4 VP immediately upon slaying the enemy Warlord
- Linebreaker: 4 VP each round from Round 5 onwards with a unit wholly inside opponent’s deployment zone
- First Strike: 4 VP for destroying an enemy unit in the first battle round
Tiebreaker: If scores are tied, the player who destroyed the most points’ worth of enemy units wins and gains 1 VP.
