Nervous System Regulation for a Dysregulated World - Aleksandra Wruk
Overview
We live in a culture that keeps our bodies in a constant state of urgency. From chronic stress and trauma histories to the pressures of individualism and endless productivity, many people now move through the world in cycles of activation: fight, flight, freeze, without ever truly returning to baseline.
This workshop offers a clear, accessible, and embodied understanding of the nervous system. You’ll learn what dysregulation feels like in the body, why it happens, and how simple, research-informed somatic tools can support both personal and client-side regulation.
Across two hours, we weave together theory, guided practice, and intuitive understanding to help you recognise activation patterns, explore the roots of chronic dysregulation, and cultivate grounding skills that can be applied in therapeutic, coaching, and community contexts.
Understand the nervous system & activation cycle:
- Gain a clear overview of how the stress response works, how activation and shutdown present in the body, and how to recognise subtle and pronounced signs of dysregulation.
Explore why dysregulation is so widespread today:
- Understand both internal and external contributors, including trauma, high-pressure environments, and burnout culture, to better contextualise clients’ stress patterns.
Learn immediate, practical regulation tools:
- Experience simple grounding and self-soothing practices, along with embodied awareness exercises you can use personally and share with clients to support regulation.
This workshop is ideal for:
- Professionals supporting others in emotional, stressful, or high-intensity contexts
- Therapists, counsellors, coaches, bodyworkers, and facilitators across the helping professions
- Anyone wanting to better understand their own stress patterns and build greater nervous system awareness
- No prior knowledge of nervous system science or somatics is required.
How May This Workshop Impact Your Practice?
- This workshop will deepen participants’ embodied understanding of dysregulation and how it presents in real time. It will support practitioners in integrating simple, practical somatic tools into therapeutic, coaching, and group work. Participants will also strengthen their own capacity to stay grounded, attuned, and regulated while holding space, enhancing their ability to model co-regulation through their presence.
