Nest 1.0 is a two-day conference focused on celebrating, supporting and growing the farmed insect protein sector. UKEIA will bring together industry experts, researchers, retailers, funders and regulators to share insights, discuss industry challenges, and explore opportunities for growth.

From those in traditional agriculture looking to diversify, to insect farmers setting out, to fertiliser-makers, enthusiasts of bio-conversion, feed for pets and livestock, all the way to the human fork both undisguised and ingeniously packaged, insects have huge potential. Join us to find out more.

What can I expect from the event?

Expect a mix of inspiring talks, interactive and open workshops, a chance to really get underneath the realities of farmed insect protein and its production by hearing direct  from industry players. A networking exhibition space will allow the showcasing of innovative products and research posters.

Do I have to attend the whole event?

Accepted Answer

We'd love it if you want to! The event is designed to maximise the amount of time that you get to spend with other entrepreneurs, researchers and insect curious people. But if you only want to or able to come for one day, tickets are available for the Thursday or the Friday.

Why should I come to the dinner?

Accepted Answer

First of all, we'd love you to truly experience the intriguing potential of insect protein - some of the food that we serve will be our members' products, along with a side of networking! However, again, we know that sometimes you're maximising time away, so the Hopper bus will take you into town.

How can I participate?

There are so many different ways to enjoy this event! You could be a sponsor, display a poster, bring your own products or research to share at our exhibition, or simply come armed with questions and curiosity. The range of attendees should provide something for everyone in insect

What will the workshops consist of?

Accepted Answer

We have recruited a set of experts to run short workshops on a range of topics of practical importance to the sector.   We will finalise these once we know the interest of attendees. More details are on the UKEIA website.
