Nesta Spotlight on Crowdfunding
Friday, 2 May 2014 from 09:30 to 11:30 (BST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Crowdfunding in the UK and Scotland is booming. In 2012, more than $2.7 billion was raised through crowdfunding worldwide – helping to fund more than one million new projects. £200 million was invested through Crowdfunding in the UK alone in 2013 with significant potential for further growth. Scottish companies such as BrewDog have successfully used this method for their development and specific initiatives in Scotland to provide a platform for crowdfunding are increasing.
This panel event will explore the current state of Crowdfunding in Scotland and the potential for this new way of financing projects to grow in the future.
Speakers will include:
- Nicola Horlick, Glentham Capital
- Neil Simpson, Brew Dog
- Rachael Brown, Impact Arts
- Tim Wright, Twintangibles
- Liam Collins, Nesta
Registration and breakfast will open at 09.30 with presentations starting at 10.00 prompt.
