Discover the town of Neston, once a busy port on the Dee estuary, and later becoming an important coal mining town for over 150 years. The history, and growth of the town in the 18th and 19th centuries can be seen through its historic buildings around the town centre and beyond. The tour will take in the parish church of St Mary’s and St Helen’s before exploring the sites of the many public houses in the town, then along to the more affluent parts of the town to discover the merchant houses of the 18th century before returning to the church and its peaceful graveyard.

Accessibility:
The tour is not fully accessible due to narrow pavements, a lack of drtop kerbs, and streets with no footpath.

How to get there
By bus: The 487 bus travels between Liverpool and Neston on an hourly basis in the evenings.
By train: There are trains between Liverpool and Neston , changing at Bidston.
By car: There is a free car park in th town as well as parking at Sainsbury's.
