Netwalking in the Great Outdoors
Wed 29 March 2017, 11:00 – 13:00 BST
“The beauty of walking is that everybody does it” Professor Adrian Taylor
Tired of making small talk over yet another full English breakfast in stuffy conference room?
Fancy an invigorating walk in the fresh air surrounded by beautiful classic British countryside with likeminded entrepreneurial business owners?
Swop your business suit for welly boots and head outside to join fellow enthusiastic netwalkers to walk, talk and network. It's the perfect opportunity to reflect on your business, bounce ideas about with others, generate new strategies, develop new opportunities and draw inspiration from nature one step at a time with the added bonus of gentle exercise.
Netwalkers will meet at the car park near Caen Lock Cafe on Wednesday 29th March 2017 at 11am to walk, talk and network down the Caen Lock complex along the Kennet and Avon Canal. There will be a dedicated theme with a series of questions to encourage conversation facilitates exploration of different aspects of your business or work. The gently sloping 4km route will take approximately an hour and there is the opportunity to purchase your refreshments after the walk at the Caen Lock Inn Cafe (cash only) and reflect on your experience.
Please be aware that there will be photos taken during the event that might be used for future advertising purposes. If you don't want to be photographed please let us know in advance.
We look forward to walking, talking and networking with you in the British Great Outdoors.
What do others say about previous netwalks?
"What a great idea! Absolutely loved it and enjoyed all the lovely people who joined. Very much looking forward to the next one”. Olya Tout, You Beauty Clinic
“A much more relaxed and friendly way of Networking and the icing on the cake being out in the fresh air (even if it was a bit damp!)”. Rachel Brastock, Understanding Talent.
“It was great to walk with such an amazing group of dynamic local entrepreneurs and wonderful to be by the canal on this sunny day, instead of shut in a room. The most energising and relaxing way to network I've ever experienced!” Samiha Abdeldjebar, U-Bur Productions
“It was a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so. I’d have been happy to walk further and for longer. I like the fact that we were outside and moving, much better than a stuffy room and warm wine”. Jane Ginnever, SHIFT.
What are my parking options at the event?
There is public parking at the Caen Lock car park with access from A361, along B3101 and The Locks Road. Parking tickets can be purchased from the Caen Lock cafe after the netwalk (£1 for four hours). Please be careful with sat nav and check the route as the directions can be slightly misleading!
What is the cancellation policy?
Netwalking tickets are non-refundable though it is possible to change the name and substitute a replacement netwalker. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend and the name of your replacement in advance.
What is included in my ticket price?
The netwalking ticket price includes event organisation, administration and eventbrite booking fees. We are constantly hunting out new routes, formats and special "extras" to ensure each netwalk is a completely unqiue and enjoyable experience. Each netwalk is individually organised to avoid any joining or annual membership fees.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Little reminder that an element of common sense should always be applied before heading outside with consideration to the British weather. It's strongly recommended to check the weather the evening before and bring welly boots, umbrella, warm jacket, scarf, hat and water bottle.
Remember to bring along your business cards to exchange contact details with other netwalkers.
Netwalking is focused on business discussions so is unfortunately unsuitable for babies, little people or dogs.
