Event description

Description

In my experience, a walk and women take on another dimension of interest when alcohol or chocolate is mentioned. On this Friday walk, inspired by that Easter time of the year and the fact that Chocolate is closely linked with it I am going to take you on a chocolate linked walk.

We'll start with coffee or perhaps hot chocolate at Jaz and Jules Chocolate shop and cafe http://www.jazandjuls.co.uk/ which is not far from Angel tube. See the link which will make it easy for you to find us.

From here we'll head to Regent's Canal walking towards Kings Cross and the Coal Drop Yard where Alain Ducasse has opened a chocolate manufacturing place. Not sure if we can visit, I am looking into it.

From here our walk takes us on along the canal to Regent's Park and then into Marylebone where many chocolate shops are to be found. Let's just look in as we pass by and if you are quick you can run in and purchase some chocolate to fuel you.

Old Bond Street then calls and the oldest Chocolate shop Charbonel and Walker known for their beautiful champagne truffles. You may well recognise the packaging.

As our walk draws to an end, we'll finish at a chocolate shop with a difference Choccywoccydoodah, worth visiting to see their creative displays ...... and you may want to build in time to treat yourself to a drink and some delicious cake in their cafe. Much recommended but be prepared, their portions are large so you may want to share a slice!

We will have lunch on route but much as I have searched, this may not be chocolate related!! Perhaps a good thing as I don't want to go overboard.

There will be an info sheet and a little goodie for you all.

To make sure we are in flow with the weather, whatever it may be, please wear layers as this allows you to take off or add as temperature varies. Bring a bottle of water and a snack or two e.g some nuts or a protein bar incase you get the nibbles and also money for lunch and drinks.

Final details will be emailed out to those signing up at the latest the day before the walk.

We only have ten places available on this walk, so sign up as soon as you can!

With "Netwalking Women" we have weekend walks each month. We alternate the weekend days so that one month the walk is on a Saturday and then the next month on a Sunday, plus occasional Friday walks.

It’s a day of investing in you, your health and wellbeing; of putting yourself first and as the opportunity arises, doing business in a different way! But you don’t have to be a business woman – you can be a woman who enjoys the company of other women, a woman who has chosen to take a day out from her job to look after herself, a mum who is child free for a time and choosing to spend her day in this way.

Walking is a wonderful way to get some exercise, to see a new part of a city or a corner of the countryside. It’s a wonderful way to socialise and to network too. When you’re walking you don’t need to keep eye contact and this can be very useful when challenging and difficult conversations are taking place. In all my years of walking with women I have observed the most frivolous and lighthearted conversations one moment and the next, a very deep and serious discussion. Walking allows all of that.

At the end of the day:

  • you'll come away refreshed and with a clearer head having had a day in the fresh air

  • you’ll have met great women

  • you’ll have chatted, shared and learnt

  • you’ll have enjoyed coffee and lunch stops and perhaps an after walk drink

  • you’ll feel energised and exercised

  • you’ll be looking for the date of the next event..

This is time and space for you and it’s going to happen once a month.
