Event description

Description

This month we are back on the Pilgrim's Way from Shooters Hill to Dartford although there are places to opt out on route as this is a 13 mile walk.

Not long after the start of the walk we cross what was the Kent/London border until the 20th century. Much of our walk is through beautiful woodland following the Green Chain Walk and this takes us into Lesnes Abbey Wood and by the ruins of Lesnes Abbey itself. From here we head out to walk along the Thames and later join a section of the London Loop and finally end up in Dartford. So a real mixture of walking surfaces and views for us today.

We'll start around 9.30/10.00 and will stop for coffee and lunch and probably end up in the pub for a drink after.

To make sure we are in flow with the weather, whatever it may be, please wear layers as this allows you to take off or add as temperature varies. Bring a bottle of water and a snack or two e.g some nuts or a protein bar incase you get the nibbles and also money for lunch and drinks.

Final details will be emailed out to those signing up at the latest the day before the walk.

We only have ten places available on this walk, so sign up as soon as you can!

With "Netwalking Women" we have weekend walks each month. We alternate the weekend days so that one month the walk is on a Saturday and then the next month on a Sunday.

It’s a day of investing in you, your health and wellbeing; of putting yourself first and as the opportunity arises, doing business in a different way! But you don’t have to be a business woman – you can be a woman who enjoys the company of other women, a woman who has chosen to take a day out from her job to look after herself, a mum who is child free for a time and choosing to spend her day in this way.

Walking is a wonderful way to get some exercise, to see a new part of a city or a corner of the countryside. It’s a wonderful way to socialise and to network too. When you’re walking you don’t need to keep eye contact and this can be very useful when challenging and difficult conversations are taking place. In all my years of walking with women I have observed the most frivolous and lighthearted conversations one moment and the next, a very deep and serious discussion. Walking allows all of that.

At the end of the day:

  • you'll come away refreshed and with a clearer head having had a day in the fresh air

  • you’ll have met great women

  • you’ll have chatted, shared and learnt

  • you’ll have enjoyed coffee and lunch stops and perhaps an after walk drink

  • you’ll feel energised and exercised

  • you’ll be looking for the date of the next event..

This is time and space for you and it’s going to happen once a month.
