Event description

Description

Women excel at building relationships, at looking after others and in doing so, they are great at talking.

Netwalking Women is a great opportunity to do just that twice a month. It’s a day of investing in you, your health and wellbeing; of putting yourself first and as the opportunity arises, doing business in a different way! But you don’t have to be a business woman – you can be a woman who enjoys the company of other women, a woman who has chosen to take a day out from her job to look after herself, a mum who is child free for a time and choosing to spend her day in this way.

Walking is a wonderful way to get some exercise, to see a new part of a city of a corner of the countryside. It’s a wonderful way to socialise and to network too. When you’re walking you don’t need to keep eye contact and this can be very useful when challending and difficult conversations are taking place. In all my years of walking with women I have observed the most frivilous and lighthearted conversations one moment and the next a very deep and serious discussion the next. Walking allows all of that.

At the end of the day you’ll –

  • come away refreshed and with a clearer head having had a day in the fresh air

  • you’ll have met great women

  • you’ll have chatted, shared and learnt

  • you’ll have enjoyed coffee and lunch stops and perhaps an after walk drink

  • you’ll feel energised and exercised

  • you’ll be looking for the date of the next event..

Bring your camera, bring your business cards on our Friday walks. Wear walking gear and trainers or walking shoes/boots. Prepare to explore and have fun.

This is time and space for you and it’s going to happen twice a month.

Our weekend walk this month is a 10 mile walk following the River Chess in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walk features a number of points of interest from a historical and naturalistic point of view. We have variety of scenery with undulating landscapes and we pass a cricket pitch, a golf course, a quarry, two churches and for most of it we follow the shallow chalk stream of the River Chess though in places it's obscured from view.

There are opt out points at Chorleywood and Little Chalfont and a couple of pubs on route which means lunch is sorted.

This is not a route march but neither is it a dander so purposeful walking really. This as you giving to yourself, valuing yourself and taking some time out.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and dress in layers then you can take on or off as the temperature dictates.

For those signing up, a more detailed email will be sent the day before.
