We are so excited to announce that we have teamed up with Andy Peers and YourBikeShed to host our first networking event on Thursday 8th December from 6:00pm until 8pm.
It will be an amazing opportunity to meet other social entrepreneurs, current SSE students, fellows and staff, to socialise, network and have a drink together!
Spaces are limited and tickets have already started selling, so if you want to join us make sure you reserve your space soon. This event is open to anyone with an interest in social enterprise, so please share and spread the word.
They will be canapes and drinks alongside guest speaker Andy Peers. Andy has held the posts of Head of Sales for The Big Issue in the North, Executive Director for The Big Life group of charities & social businesses, Chief Executive for The Big Issue South West and Operations Director and North of England Director for the British Red Cross.
Andy has also spent eight years providing support to individuals, charities, social enterprises and public organisations to support their pursuit of making a positive difference in their communities. He worked with those from pre-start to established stages, from the locally to the internationally focussed, with turnover ranging from £0-150 million per annum and across a broad range of social, cultural and environmental issues.
He has been a friend of the School for Social Entrepreneurs ever since it was first launched in Yorkshire back in 2009. He has delivered witness sessions, workshops focused on developing social mission & values and has provided coaching and mentoring support to students.
Andy’s talk will share experiences from the dual perspectives he has of both leading within and supporting the development of social purpose initiatives and organisations. He will share insights about leadership and the power of the story. Whether you are riding the crest of a wave right now or need inspiration to get back up onto the board, Andy’s talk will provide something for all those who recognised the potential in being a social entrepreneur and the incredible opportunity that the School for Social Entrepreneurs provided along the way.
