Networking Playdate
Event Information
About this event
People want to do business with those that they know, like and trust. Therefore, having the opportunity to connect with other like-minded business people can make a world of difference to the success of your business (and also to your well-being). But how do you fit this in when you run your business around caring for your child(ren)?
Enter "Networking Playdates". An opportunity for you to make valuable business connections and find your tribe, while your child plays.
Is it noisy with lots of interruptions? Of course!
Does that mean you can't make valuable relationships and have the opportunity to shout about your business? Of course not!
This is the second event and with all things that involve small children, to a degree, we are still winging it. The loose plan is as follows:
- Arrival for 1pm. Help yourself to a complimentary hot drink and get your smalls settled(ish) while having a general chit chat with the other attendees.
- At around 1.15pm we will begin a "round the table" session, where we will each get a minute or two to tell each other about our businesses.
- Once that is finished, we move on to our featured speaker. This month is Sam Pitman from Eco Essex.
- Depending on the kids/time, we may then do a second round the table session where we each get to say what type of support/connections we are looking for.
- Once we have finished the round the table sessions, we will drink more tea, keep our kids out of trouble and do more informal networking with whoever has seemed like an interesting connection until the close.
- Bring business cards (or have a Blinq card) and be ready to make lots of new connections.
- If you won't have eaten/fed your smalls before arrival, bring food with you. It's a really relaxed event!
If you have never been to business networking before, don't worry. This is a gentle, supportive group. We bring fabulous ice breakers with us. Your organiser, Vicky Kelly has years of experience running business networking events and you will be in very safe (albeit slightly distracted) hands.
This really is a unique opportunity! Let's make it something special. Please spread the word and share the event with other Mums in business (Dads with childcare responsibilities are welcome too). All types of business are welcome, this is not just for people who run businesses aimed at parents of young children (although they of course can come!) Whatever type of business you run, come and make some new connections!
If you haven't already, head over to the Networking Playdates Facebook Group and introduce yourself and your business.
NOTE:
This event is inclusive. It is open to men and women. You are welcome to join us whether you have children to bring with you or not. However, we expect anyone who attends to be supportive and understanding when those who have brought children with them, need to tend to the needs of those children.
