Presented by Jo Blakeley

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is about helping people achieve personal and professional excellence. It’s about getting positive results, creating world class relationships and changing the way you think, behave and act so that you become a more effective person at work and home.

This two-day course examines some of the best bits of NLP, with the aim of getting you up to speed, quickly so that you can use the tools and techniques immediately. It will provide you with the skills necessary to improve your performance at work, whilst giving you a sound understanding of how to get the best out of yourself and the people around you through the use of well-established NLP techniques.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Know what NLP is (and isn’t)
  • Create a success mind-set
  • Manage their state
  • Build high quality relationships
  • Understand what’s holding them back from success
  • Identify other’s preferences
  • Anchor themselves into a positive state

Monday morning you will be able to:

  • Explain to others what NLP is
  • Practice the tools and techniques
  • Build rapport on a conscious and unconscious level
  • Ensure they are in a positive state
  • Detect states in others and manage them effectively
  • Change their own and others’ behaviour
  • Identify incongruency in themselves and others

09:30-09:40  Introduction

Introduction to the seminar, the presenter, the objectives and agenda for the day.

09:40-10:15 What is NLP

This session covers what NLP is, and isn’t, as well as an outline of the origins of NLP, the NLP model and the four pillars of NLP.

10:15-11:00 Blame Frame versus Outcome Frame

This session outlines the first pillar of NLP and gets the delegates to use it while thinking about what they can achieve from knowing more about NLP.

11:00-11:15 Break

11:15-13:00 NLP Presuppositions

The second pillar of NLP is about having flexibility and in order to really understand this concept, the delegates need to know what the underlying laws of NLP are, which is what this session is about. Delegates will practise the presuppositions by doing an exercise called the ‘presupposition circle’.

13:00-14:00 Lunch

14:00-17:00 Sensory Acuity

The third pillar of NLP is sensory acuity. Firstly, they will learn what sensory acuity is and how they can detect it through verbal and auditory cues while calibrating the other person. Delegates will learn the difference between sensory acuity and mind reading and practise it via an activity. Delegates will also learn how to use sensory acuity to build rapport and to pick up on eye accessing cues. There will be lots of activities and exercises to practise building rapport and eye movement integration.

09:30-11:00 State Management

One of the key abilities in NLP is to be able to manage one’s own state and be able to observe state in others. This session describes what is meant by state, why it is so important, how to identify it and change it. The delegates will do various exercises to change their state and to try out their new skills.

11:00-11:15 Break

11:15-13:00 Anchoring

Anchoring is one way of harnessing and creating resourceful states and so delegates will learn what anchoring is, why it works and how to do it. They will practise various anchoring techniques to create empowering states such as confidence, positivity and resilience.

13:00-14:00  Lunch

14:00-17:00  Changing Behaviour

Delegates will spend the afternoon learning various techniques which utilises all the skills they’ve learnt to-date with the outcome of changing their own (and others) behaviours. These include mapping across, perceptual positions and the circle of excellence. By the end, they will have completed the four pillars of NLP.
