Neuro-myths: a free creative writing workshop for self-identifying neurodivergent people of any level of writing experience.

Stories have been used throughout history to help explain or process common life experiences, but what about those of us who experience life in an uncommon way? Where are the stories for us?

What is it?

Join us for a relaxed two hour workshop exploring our relationships to neurodiversity and mythology through creative writing. What could a neurodivergent mythology look like? What experiences unite us? How would you change the narrative?

Who can go?

Funded by the Royal Society of Literature and led by writer & storyteller Lizzie Milton, this workshop is open to anyone who self-identifies as neurodivergent, no matter your age or experience. Whether you’ve never written before or are working as a professional writer, this is an invitation to connect creatively with other neurodivergent people and maybe even find inspiration to submit something to the neuro-myths zine!

Neuro-myths zine

As part of this project, I am launching a neuro-myths zine at the end of the year, which will be open to submissions. I will explain more about this in the workshop as well as how to submit.

Other important details

  • It is free to attend
  • You are welcome to have cameras on or off during the workshop.
  • There are two dates to choose from. I am running the same workshop for both of these, so you don't need to attend more than one (although if you just wanted to do the exercises again, you are very welcome!). Any further questions? Access requirements? email me at neuromythszine@gmail.com
