About this event

Neuro-Nudge your behaviour - Leadership workshop Session 1.

Your brain is not always your friend, and as a leader, can we always trust it to make the right decisions when 95% of the decisions we make are made unconsciously?

And whilst many leaders believe they are doing a good job, they will be unaware of the thoughts and triggers behind the decisions they make in a faster, diverse workplace.

They may not realise if they are unknowingly causing conflict, playing favourites and limiting the performance of their teams and themselves through their words and actions.

It’s time to shift the needle and empower leaders to think clearer, lead smarter, be calmer and adjust their behaviour by leveraging the power of behavioural awareness and brain-based insights and strategies that work!

In this interactive and educational workshop spread over two sessions, we merge business and leadership insights and cognitive behavioural and brain-based insights to help leaders recognise how they can make more permanent change and build a better workplace.

**Nudge** your behavior using **Neuroscience** and **Business** techniques. This session is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their **leadership** skills.

It’s called the Brain-Behaviour connection!

As a Leader, it is hard to find time to pause and reflect. Take a purposeful break from the daily grind to learn, reflect and take action.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to gain valuable insights and tools that will help you become a more effective leader!

Please register for Session 1 through this link, and then proceed to register for Session 2 seperately which is a continuation of the workshop using the below link. We deliver over 2 sessions to allow easier integration into your work schedule, and to allow application on the job between sessions.

Session 1 content

Why are we even talking about this and what’s the business impact?

We will set the scene by talking about the business challenges organisations face including culture, performance, workplace stress, as well as the evolution and changing demographics of the workplace which Leaders must adapt to.

We will look at the importance of a Leaders role in driving positive behavioural change and the expectations of a manager/leader today, and what trust means in a changing workplace.

Importance of Self-awareness in your Leadership journey

Why do people become managers and is it always for the right reasons? We will explore the leadership journey, and how that influenced the leader you are today.

· Your Moral code – Leadership contract

· Importance of Self-awareness – Know your Iceberg

· What's the leadership journey look like?

· Rate the Behaviour, not the Label.

· Activating Emotions and Trust.

The Power of Behaviours.

Are you conscious of those behaviours in the workplace which may be doing more damage than good? As leaders our intent and the interpretation of our words and actions on the person receiving it may be very different to what we think. As we say, the map is not the same territory for each one of us, so we must understand the other person’s view of the world.

· Recognise the Behaviour, the Intention and the receipt.

· The Blame game and seeing the bigger picture - ABC time

· The Stress of Behaviours

· The impact of our environment

· Basics of LMNNOP on behaviour and performance

Session 2 content

The Science behind our behaviour and the decisions we make.

If we are to make better decisions, we should understand what’s behind them. Our brain is our Interpreter, our filter and strives to keep us safe, but it also relies on shortcuts, and can hijack us, so can we always trust it to do the right thing?

· Insights about the Brain and its wiring

· Prime directive of the brain and why we shortcut our behaviours

· Behavioural addictions and selfish chemicals

· Neurogenesis, the Dual brain theory and DNS

The Truth of the excuse

We will discuss personal triggers which can lead to thinking errors and stress inducing thoughts which impact behaviour. As a Leader challenging your own thinking will help ask the right questions to support others better.

· Non-conscious drivers of our truth

· Cognitive distortions , thinking errors and projections

· Are we guilty of Cognitive Bias, there are hundreds of them?

· The Amygdala hijack and Triggers

Bring the Unconscious to the Conscious and take Action

You are now aware of the impact of your behaviours on yourself and others. It’s time to reflect on what you learnt about yourself and take action. We’ll look at how we apply some business and brain-based strategies to help you grow team trust, better performance, and act on the Leadership legacy you want to leave behind.

· Behavioural awareness reflection
