NeuroCurious: The Sensory Experience
Overview
🌟 NeuroCurious #2: The Sensory Experience
After a sold-out launch in April, NeuroCurious returns - this time exploring the sensory world of neurodivergence. Whether you’re discovering your own identity or supporting someone you know, this event is a welcoming space for all curious minds.
🧠 Why This Matters
Sensory input - like noise, light, or clothing - can quickly overwhelm neurodivergent people. Understanding and meeting sensory needs supports emotional regulation, focus, and wellbeing.
🛠️ What to Expect
Led by Jess Rad, Founder of The WomenHood, with a powerful blend of diverse neurodivergent voices we will explore how to:
- Knowledge: Recognise your own sensory sensitivities and advocate for your needs
 - Mindset: Deepen your understanding of this vital part of the neurodivergent experience
 - Toolkit: Get practical ideas to design your life or support others

👥 Who Is It For?
- Individuals: Exploring neurodiversity or your own identity
 - Family & Allies: Learn how to support loved ones
 - Teams & Workplaces: Build understanding and inclusion at work

🎙️Speakers
Alexi Kruiz (she/her) is a low sensory specialist hairstylist at Lush Hair Lab Brighton, an aspiring writer, a professional emo and a recovering people pleaser. Born in Brighton to 3rd culture upbringing, she’s been a hair stylist for nearly 2 decades working with many celebrity clients and featured in multiple magazines. Proud to be a voice for anyone who has felt “othered” in high sensory spaces and left feeling masking was the only way to feel safe, Lex’s focus is to hold space for anyone who usually feels they have to put a mask on to fit social norms. She recently accomplished one year of sobriety and was a guest on the “One for the road” podcast with sober Dave, with conversation touching on neurodivergence and substance including the link to a dysregulated childhood.
Suzi Payton (she/her) is a speaker, author, comedian, and confidence coach on a mission to improve the world for neurodivergent folks. She uses her passion, comedy skills, and lived experience as an AuDHDer to challenge outdated perceptions of neurodivergence and spark real change. Suzi also lives with Tourette’s and OCD, and brings all of that into her work with honesty, humour, and heart. She supports neurodivergent adults in building the confidence to unmask, ditch self-doubt, and work with their inner critic, so that Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) strikes less and less - her approach is playful, empowering, and rooted in the belief that confidence isn’t about changing who you are; it’s about trusting who you are. She recently co-authored a book: Lost & Now Found: A guide to understanding and accepting yourself for late-discovered autistic adults with Kate Laine-Toner, published by Jessica Kingsley Publishing.
Liana Fricker (she/her) is a Founder, Venture Catalyst, and Inspirer-in-Chief. With roots in strategic marketing and creative leadership, she founded the Inspiration Space in 2019 after a decade agency-side working with brands including Bacardi, Ray-Ban, and BMW. Inspiration Space is a community-powered business accelerator built on the belief that while every idea doesn’t deserve to succeed, the people who dream them up do. Diagnosed with ADHD at 39, alongside her two children, Liana believes that understanding how our senses and “human intelligence” collaborate (or co-conspire) is key to unmasking, designing a life and career that truly work for us, embracing joy and self-compassion.
Bec Milligan (she/her) is an EFT (Tapping) practitioner, trainer, and resilience coach with a passion for helping people and workplaces regulate their nervous systems and rise with resilience. Trained in modalities of EFT, Matrix-reimprinting, breath-work, somatic and archetypal coaching, and originally functional medicine, Bec works with a wide tool kit to guide people towards positive shifts in understanding their nervous system, supporting emotional regulation and rewiring subconscious patterns. Bec will be providing an inclusive re-set and regulation break, using somatics, and simple tapping techniques to help us re-focus, re-engage and re-energise, to those that wish to take part.

About The WomenHood
Founded by Jess Rad in 2019, our mission is to close gender gaps, increase allyship and celebrate neurodiversity by getting outspoken about the unspoken challenges of womanhood. We’re more than a community or a programme provider – we’re a movement for equity, empathy and positivity.
Through our talks, programmes and flagship NeuroCurious event series, we create inclusive spaces where honesty sparks understanding, and small shifts lead to lasting change - in workplaces and society.
We believe in the power of 1% changes – the everyday actions that, over time, transform cultures, workplaces and lives. We help individuals, teams and organisations build awareness, connection and confidence – turning insight into action, and isolation into belonging.
