Aim
To explore the underlying mechanisms of chronic fatigue in neurodivergent individuals, particularly women and people who menstruate, and to provide practitioners with knowledge and tools to better understand, identify, and support fatigue through a nutritional and lifestyle lens.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between tiredness, fatigue, and chronic fatigue and understand their distinct implications.
- Recognise why neurodivergent people may be at greater risk of fatigue, including the role of masking, sleep disruption, hormonal influences, and diagnostic overshadowing.
- Understand key biological and nutritional factors linked to fatigue, such as glucose metabolism, mitochondrial function, hydration, and protein intake.
- Apply practical strategies to support energy regulation in neurodivergent individuals, with a focus on nutrition, lifestyle, and pacing.
