About this event
Do you find it hard to build a routine for your creative projects or just to find the time to do your artwork and associated admin?Set a regular time to co-create with us in the Neurodivergent Art Club! It is free to come along - just register to be sent the Zoom link, which is the same each time so feel free to add it to your calendar. If you register for a date and can't make it, don't worry - just use the link to come on another week.
Join us to create together, whatever you are working on right now - bring along your current project or task, it can be anything at all, and work in company.Body doubling, encouragement and accountability to make artwork, tidy your creative space, do admin or study or whatever you need.We check in quickly at the start and share what we are working on and our goals - we answer three questions (all optional!):
What have been my creative (or other) wins this week? What have been my creative (or other) challenges this week? What am I going to work on today?
We then have 3 'Creative Bursts' of 25 minutes each where you can either listen to the playlist, or have sound off (or your own music), and work on your own creative project or task. There will be breaks and a chance to chat in between focussed sessions and a short check in at the end.
Cameras are optional, as are mics - if all you want to do is lurk, just say hello in the text chat so we know you are there! It is up to you how you engage with the space.Agenda:14:00 arrive and get settled14:10 check in, introductions & share what you're working on14:20 Creative Burst #1 (25 minutes)14:45 5 minute break with optional chatting!14:50 Creative Burst #2 (25 minutes)15:15 15 minute break, check in & chat15:30 Creative Burst #315:55 Break & final check in (5 minutes)The session is free to all, however if you'd like to support my work you can make a donation when you register, or please consider joining my Patreon community hereYou are also invited to join our Facebook group here and follow the Neurodivergent Art Club on Substack.
Frequently asked questions
The session is run by Jez Franck, a multidisciplinary artist, teacher and creative facilitator based in Southampton. They are usually in their studio for the sessions.
Anyone who needs some creative time and would benefit from some company and structure to get things DONE!
Not at all! Self-diagnosis is totally fine, you are also welcome if you feel that a neurodivergent-friendly space is right for you, even if you don't identify as neurodivergent.
There is an option to donate a little something if you can, or support Jez on Substack or Patreon, but no obligation at all to pay anything. Jez runs other, paid, online and in-person workshops and may tell you about these occasionally, but the primary focus of these sessions is gathering to create.
The session is for anything at all - admin, life stuff, tidying your workspace or studio, getting on with other work. We have had people do everything from rearrange their bookshelves to stitching crochet squares together to completing a painting!
