Joyfully Different's neurodivergent-friendly networking events provide a space for neurodivergent business owners, leaders and freelancers to meet and get to know each other in a friendly, low-pressure, non-salesy environment that focuses on building meaningful connections and providing genuinely helpful support for your business.

What makes our business events different?

🌟 Structured (yet flexible!) facilitated networking: Say goodbye to awkward small talk! Our friendly, gently facilitated networking format to help you focus on the conversations that interest you and feel relevant to your business.

💬 Communication made easier: We understand the pressure to engage in conversation at networking can sometimes be too much, which is why we provide colour-coded lanyards to indicate your preferred approach to communication. Choose from:

🟢 Green (“Chat to me!”)

🟠 Orange (“I might not be up for chatting”)

🔴 Red (“If I want to talk, I’ll let you know”

… this lets you engage with conversations on your terms, or just listen in.

🤫 Quiet space available: Sometimes, we all need a breather. Our events always have a dedicated quiet space ****for anyone who feels like things are getting a bit much, so you can take however long you need to regulate and recharge.

🎯 Choose from four different table activities or discussions: Join one of our four themed tables to take part in the conversations that interest you, with an activity to focus on while you talk:

• 20 mins - Arrive, get yourself a drink and snacks, choose a table and chat with other attendees
• 20 mins - Introduction + short talk from your host or guest speaker
• 70 mins - Networking, discussions and activities
• 10 mins - Feedback from tables and close

FAQs

What is your cancellation policy?

The majority of our events are free, but places are often limited - especially for in-person events, therefore please make sure you cancel your place, if you are unable to attend. You can cancel through your Eventbrite booking or emailing bipc@brighton-hove.co.uk.

Can I attend if I'm not a member of the library?

Absolutely! Any Sussex based business/ person with a business idea is welcome. Though we always recommend joining the library as it's free and will make accessing our databases, books and publications much easier.
