The month of October highlights the contributions of workers with disabilities and promotes inclusive hiring practices.

As part of this, BCP Council and AFC Bournemouth have partnered to bring an event focused on removing barriers to employment by increasing Disability Confidence amongst sectors.

Who is this event aimed at?

✅In line with the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) produced by the Dorset Chamber, the Local Growth Board, the Get Britain Working plan and the Connect to Work programme, we are calling all sized businesses from Micro-Enterprises to SME's and beyond.

✅We need sector specific tables:

•Health and Social Care•Advanced manufacturing & engineering including Aerospace, Defence and Marine•Construction•Finance, Digital & Creative Tech•Agriculture, Agri-tech (food security) & Aquaculture•Retail, Hospitality and Leisure.

✅Third Sector charities that support those with long term health conditions, employability support, Health and Wellbeing, Access to Work, Neurodiversity coaching, supports those who are Economically Inactive, job coaching, digital accessibility to name a few.

What will I learn?

You will hear from keynote speakers discussing their journey to employment, businesses sharing their sector specific barriers, gain awareness of practical support available, myth busting about reasonable adjustments and access to work. In addition each sector will have aspiring potential employees at their tables to enrich the round table discussions, and much more!
