Overview

For some children, family get togethers, birthdays, celebrations such as Christmas, can be just too overwhelming. How can we help our child?

Whilst many of us love a family get together or big celebrations such as Christmas, many children and young people find these some of their most anxious times with sensory overwhelm even on their own birthdays.

We have asked Colette Longden from Blueprint Learning to walk through ways we can reduce the triggers, check the environment and communicate with family too so that these occasions can be much happier for everyone.

Pinpoint are the OFFICIAL Parent Carer Forum for Cambridgeshire providing help and information to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities in Cambridgeshire.

Pinpoint have a dedicated part time staff team of SEND parent carers offering signposting and events for all things SEND and opportunities for parents to have a say and get involved in improving local services.

No formal diagnosis is required to access support from Pinpoint – a child may be on a waiting list, accessing services, had a referral turned down, or just be struggling.

You will be sent an email containing the Zoom link to access the session 2 days before, 2 hours before and at the start of the session. Please do check your junk mail and spam folders as these emails sometimes end up there!

Be comfortable at Pinpoint sessions - You can keep your camera off and stay on mute and simply join us and other parent carers who “get it” from your sofa 😊
