As many of you will know, the New & Aspiring Managers Network provides valuable support to new & aspiring managers across Dorset. Attendees consistently find these sessions extremely helpful for staying up to date and discussing key issues with others in similar roles or at similar stages in their careers.
Many participants are new to management, perhaps leading a team for the first time, or preparing to do so. Based on feedback from previous attendees, we’re pleased to offer an opportunity to meet in person for support and information-sharing, with future sessions likely to be held virtually.
We’re delighted to welcome an experienced and qualified coach with a background in social care. They will share insights into what coaching involves, how it differs from mentoring, and the benefits it can offer both individuals and their organisations. They will also be offering free coaching sessions to some new managers in our area - this is a great opportunity to learn more.
We’ll also explore the support currently available to managers and work together to identify your key development priorities. This will help shape future sessions. For example. we’ll be discussing the Managers Induction Standards, a valuable tool to guide our focus on the most useful topics. You can find more information here: Managers Induction Standards
There will also be time for open and confidential discussions, as well as networking with fellow managers.
We look forward to meeting you or your colleagues to the network meeting and taking time together to share experiences and common challenges.
