New Challenges in Absence Management

This event will cover:

• Key legal frameworks in managing absence and key recent case law.
• Best practice in using data and process to support line managers to
effectively manage absence.
• How to get maximum value from an occupational health service.

Speakers: Stuart Lowery, Gillian Hanson

Speakers Background:

Stuart is a HR advisor in the Employment team at Napthens. His role involves working with the firm’s HR3 clients who require practical, hands-on HR expertise within their business. Stuart joined Napthens in 2016. Prior to this he worked in-house, within HR services aligned to retail and distribution and for blue-chip companies, having first begun his career in operational and commercial management.

Gillian is a solicitor in the Employment team at Napthens. Prior to joining Napthens in 2015, Gillian was employed by a large international firm as a Paralegal and worked in-house with a FTSE 100 insurer client in their
subrogated recoveries department. She graduated from Cardiff University in 2012 and then went onto complete the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School.


Pets As Therapy - Can Pets in the workplace help reduce absence?

Diane Ogden and The Therapy Dog

Speakers: Diane Ogden, Director of The Therapy Company is both Service Manager and Therapist. A qualified nurse, she trained as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) in the mid 1980’s and has worked in acute mental health services in the NHS, including a specialist therapeutic community and sexual abuse/assault service. She spent several years working with substance misuse third sector organisations and private mental healthcare. In 2010 she qualified in Eye Movement, Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and became accredited with EMDR UK & Europe in 2013 and currently works with clients experiencing trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her dog, Dandy is a Registered Pets as Therapy Dog and visits hospitals, the elderly, the workplace and other specialist environments.

Diane and Dandy dog will show you the different kinds of work he does and how people benefit. 

Refreshements will be available: Mulled wine, mince pies and a festive buffet with teas and coffees.

Arrival 18:00 for 18:30pm networking. Event will start at 19:00.

Cancellations and Refunds Policy

If you are unable to attend an event please give at least 1 working day notice and we will be happy to refund 100% of your booking fee or book you on to a subsequent event to the same value. Cancellations received after this time will be non transferable and non refundable.
