Description


New Directions is a one-day event that brings together employment, training and volunteering opportunities for the over 50s. Entrance is free of charge, and tickets can be reserved in advance by registering here.

Whether you're looking for a job, new skills or just the opportunity to offer your time to help a local cause, the New Directions event will enable you to meet a wide range of local organisations keen to put your skills to work:


Employers

There will be a series of talks and workshops running alongside the main exhibition:

11.15am - Welcome address by Damian Hinds, MP for East Hampshire

TALKS
11.30am - "Overcoming barriers" by Tom Yendell
11.50am - "Your community needs you" by Sue Dell/Community First
12.10pm - "It's never too late to learn" by Aspiral Learning/Future Skills Centre

WORKSHOPS
12.30pm - Build a CV by Google*
13.30pm - Write a cover letter by Google*

14.30pm - Scam Prevention by Nat West

Damian Hinds MP will also be running a free Dementia Friends Information Session between 1 and 2pm, for anyone keen to find out more about dementia and how to help those living with the condition. Places can be booked in advance HERE


The RHL charity will be offering free health checks throughout the event, and the Alton WI branch will be serving refreshments during the day, raising money for local charity.

will be available from both Petersfield and Bordon:

10.30am mini-bus pick up outside Winton House in Petersfield
10.30am mini-bus pick up outside Forest Community Centre in Bordon

13.30pm mini-bus pick up at Alton College, returning to Bordon and then Petersfield
15.30pm mini-bus pick up at Alton College, returning to Bordon and then Petersfield
