Description

Course Content: Historic England Research - Recent and up to date research from Historic England on their work on subjects such as energy efficiency in historic buildings with particular reference to historic windows; retrofitting insulation into historic buildings; guidance on thatch fires and clay mortars and plasters.

Cost: There will be a fee of £20 per person to cover the cost of all refreshments for each individual course so for all five courses the cost is £100.

Time: Coffee will be available from 9am with a 9.30am start. The course will finish around 4pm.

Address of Venue: Hulse Hall (Breamore Village Hall), Breamore, Salisbury Road, SP6 2EA

Driving: From north: Take the Salisbury Road A338 south to Breamore and the village hall will be on your left shortly after the 30 mile an hour signs.

From south: Take the Salisbury Road A338 north to Breamore and the village hall will be on your right, after the Bat & Ball pub.

From east: From Cadnam, take the B3078 Roger Penny Way to Godshill. Turn right at the Fighting Cocks pub and follow road north to Woodgreen. Continue until the main road and turn right onto A338. The Village hall will be on your right.

Parking: There is free car parking available within the gravel car park the village hall.

Lunch: Lunch and refreshments will be available on the day with a lunchbreak scheduled.

Dietary and Mobility Requirements: Please kindly provide us with any dietary or mobility requirements.

Equipment: Where applicable a site visit is proposed as part of the day for the historic masonry, timber framed structures and joinery courses. Please bring appropriate footwear and clothes for less than favourable weather. In addition if you are attending the lime mortars, renders and plasters and cob course please be aware that this will be an interactive day and an opportunity to get hands on. Therefore please bring along appropriate clothes and footwear to work in such an environment.

Please note that external speakers and locations are subject to change but confirmed details will be emailed to prior to each course date.

Cancellation policy

If it is necessary for you to cancel your booking for whatever reason, please inform us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges are applied in all cases as it is difficult to fill spaces made vacant by late cancellations. A full refund is given only if more than 3 weeks’ notice is given. See below for refund rates:

  • Over 3 weeks’ cancellation notice: Full refund
  • 2 -3 weeks cancellation notice: 50 % refund*
  • Less than 14 days cancellation notice: No refund*

*Unless we are able to fill your place at short notice, in which case a full refund will be given

No refund will be given for non-attendance or if no prior cancellation is given.

The New Forest National Park Authority reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course up to the course date if insufficient bookings have been received. Places may also be held on these courses until an alternative date has been finalised.
