Welcome to the event:

New guide books for inclusive futures

We are holding an online round-table event on Thursday 11th December entitled ‘New guide books for inclusive futures’. This event is part of our AHRC-funded ‘Communicating and Co-Creating Connected and Challenging Histories’ project, run between Cardiff University (Professor Bella Dicks, Dr Kate Moles, Dr April-Louise Pennant) and Penrhyn Castle (National Trust) (Dominic Chennell and Lois Jones). This is an ongoing project which explores the colonial connections and enslavement histories of Penrhyn Castle. It works towards developing co-productive, collaborative and sustainable approaches for engaging people with intergenerational experience of enslavement in co-designing their stories which will be published in the new Guide Book for Penrhyn Castle.

The event is envisaged as a virtual ‘round table’ to share experiences on co-production, community engagement and producing guide books or creative/arts-based project materials in research. We will also be sharing some of our thinking and learning from the Connected and Challenging Histories project.
