About this event

Difficult-to-treat depression (also known as treatment-resistant depression) affects 20–50% of people with depression. It causes profound distress, contributes to long-term disability, and places a heavy burden on individuals, services, and society.

Despite a growing evidence base across medication, psychological therapies, and neuromodulation (e.g. TMS, tDCS), many people still receive limited support, especially in primary care. Access to specialist services is patchy. Long-term symptoms are common. Recovery remains elusive for many.

System-level barriers, including service fragmentation, limited specialist provision, and stigma, prevent timely and effective treatment.

So what can be done?

This free one-hour webinar cuts through the noise and brings you up to date on the latest evidence for managing difficult-to-treat depression.

Hosted by The Mental Elf, and designed for clinicians, prescribers, practitioners, and policymakers, this practical, evidence-focused session will:

  • Summarise the most promising treatment options
  • Highlight gaps in care and access across the UK
  • Explore new approaches, from psychedelics to neuromodulation
  • Offer clear recommendations for policy and practice

Don’t miss this chance to refresh your knowledge, reflect on your practice, and reimagine what good care could look like.
