What are our hopes and expectations of leaders in the future?
Steve will explore, aspirations, discuss the implications for organisations and examine a range of real life examples of more sustainable leadership approaches.
The CIPD has identified a number of trends affecting the future of work. These are globalisation, social and demographic change, technological change and political and economic uncertainty. Whether in senior or junior positions, large or SME organisations, public or private sector, leadership needs to be sustainable in these changing times.
We need leaders who understand the interconnections of people and the planet, who want to make a positive difference to people's lives and act in line with their values. Leaders should be more aware of their own thoughts and feelings and of those around them. We need leaders who have compassion based on acceptance and understanding of other people and who build productive relationships that are open and frankly, more fun!! These leaders know that looking after themselves better, personal growth and letting go of their ego means they can serve a higher purpose and achieve more.
The event will be delivered in a participatory style and use a combination of direct input, small group discussions and question and answer.
