This event is for any schools wishing to find out more about the OPAL Primary Programme and make their playtimes amazing.
If you have already been assigned a mentor and begun your OPAL journey, please sign up to the current schools event.

11:30am–12pm OPAL introduction meeting
Hear about the school's OPAL journey from the working group and learn more about the OPAL Primary Programme from the OPAL mentors.
12pm–1pm Observation of playtime
Come and see an OPAL playtime in action – ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.

About Engayne Primary School
Engayne is a three form primary school in Upminster, Essex. They started their OPAL journey in July 2021, achieved their OPAL Platinum Award in April 2023 and their Double OPAL Platinum Award in April 2025.
The school has a large loose part area, two digging areas, a sandpit, plentiful water play, den building, music, dressing up, arts and crafts, sports and a wheeled play area.
The OPAL working group is committed to continually improving their play offer and are supported by the parents and local community.

Additional information
We will be indoors and outdoors; please come dressed whatever the weather. OPAL schools play outdoors in all weathers.
Please provide your DBS number when booking. This will be required in advance to attend the school.
Refreshments are provided but please bring your own lunch.
The visit will be led by Becky Willans and Nikki Bedwin.
There will not be space in the school car park, however street parking is available.
The nearest train station is Upminster train/tube station station. The school is a 28 minute walk from the train station or a short bus ride:
248 Cranham (Upminster station bus Stop A) 9 stops alight at Front Lane and walk a short distance to the school.
346 Cranham (Upminster station bus Stop C) 7 stops alight at Lexington Way and walk a short distance to the school.
Only two tickets per school. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
