Play makes up 20% of children's primary school life. How do schools plan for this 20%? What are the roles of the play team?
This event is for anyone interested in joining the OPAL Primary Programme and improving playtime for the children at their school!

11:50am Arrive
You will be greeted by Jessica Swinfield (OPAL Mentor) and Amanda Stokes (Headteacher).
12pm–1pm Observation of playtime
Come and see a platinum OPAL playtime in action– ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.
1:15pm–2:15pm OPAL introduction meeting
Hear about the school's OPAL journey from the working group and learn more about the OPAL Primary Programme. There will be time for questions.
About Westcliff Primary Academy
Westcliff Primary Academy presents an amazing play offer set in small urban grounds. They have a loose parts shed, a sandpit, water play, music, dressing up, arts and crafts, a wheeled area, a messy café, a large loose parts zone, plus many more magical spaces to explore.
The play team is highly committed to continually improving their play offer, led by a fantastic OPAL working group and supported by very dedicated parents and the local community. The level of purposeful engagement from every child at playtime is awe-inspiring. They recently achieved an OPAL Platinum Award for their outstanding play provision.
Additional information
We will be indoors and outdoors; please come dressed whatever the weather. OPAL schools play outdoors in all weathers.
Parking is limited. However, there is plenty of on street parking nearby.
Please bring your own lunch.
Only two tickets per schools please. If you can no longer come, please let us know so we can release your place to another school.
