New Mathematics A-Level - Resource Development Workgroup
Wed 26 April 2017, 13:30 – 16:30 BST
Although there are existing schemes of work for the new Maths A-Level, these need further development in order to allow a holistic approach to teaching it.
This project needs the support of Key Stage 5 teachers, working collaboratively, to develop a far more detailed scheme of work, and resources that support this.
We will begin on Wednesday 26 April, spending an afternoon reviewing the various SOW for different exam boards, and considering the skills required for students to succeed across the range of topics.
We will then meet for a full day on Tuesday 27 June, to develop content together, and then a final afternoon meeting on Tuesday 11 July to review and refine what we have produced.
This project is reliant on collaboration but we realise that release time can be an issue. Therefore we are offering your school a direct payment of £300 (total) to cover supply costs of the one full and 2 half days attendance required.
Wednesday 26th April – 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Tuesday 27th June 9.30am – 4.30pm
Tuesday 11th July 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Lunch and Refreshments are provided on all three days.
You must be able to attend all dates. Your school will need to invoice the Great North Maths Hub for the total amount on the final day of the project, and will only be paid if you have been able to attend all dates.
The meetings will be led by Kathryn Occleshaw, Great North Maths Hub Level 3 Lead, and Second in Mathematics at Walbottle Campus.
