New Parent Socials Sunday Afternoon

Aimed at parents, New Parent socials are a space for parents, with babies under 1 year, to come together to connect with nature & each other

Join us for a block of 3 new parent socials here at Edinburgh Zoo. Meet new parents and learn about the work RZSS do across the world.

Our New Parents socials are created for new parents with babies under 12 months (at the time of first session) looking to spend some time at the zoo and build their community. The socials amied at parents offer a friendly environment where everyone is welcome and all contributions are valued. They are suitable for first-time visitors and for those who might not regularly come to the zoo, as well as people who have always loved visiting.

Following feedback from the previous year, we are running a 3 session block on select Sunday afternoons each month starting from January. The dates of sessions are shown below:

March 22nd

The first part of the social is time for socialising, before taking part in an activity. Each month will be a different topic and include lighthearted conversation and engaging hands on activities aimed at parents.

The event runs from 13:30 till 14:45 in the Education Centre and around the zoo. When you arrive at the zoo, you can either enter through our main reception and head straight to Education, or if you would like to enter through Member's Gate, please let us know and we can arrange to make sure the gate is open and someone will come to meet you just before 10:30. The Education Centre is fully accessible, and we will ensure to use all accessible paths when visiting enclosures around the zoo.

The event is £27 per adult for all 3 socials which covers the event and entry to the zoo for the day. Please book one ticket for each person attending (you will not have to book a ticket for your baby). Spaces are limited, so we can offer a space for up to two adults and a baby. Please ensure you cancel your booking if you can no longer attend so that we can give tickets to other people.
