Event description
Resilience at Work

About this event

The word "Resilience" is being used a lot these days… but what does it actually mean? And just how do you develop it?

This course is for anyone who works (full or part time, at home or away from home) and wants to build their resilience to stress and its effects.

Introduction

We all encounter stress at work. This course is designed to help you. It will be delivered via Zoom.

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Understand what resilience is and why it matters
  • Understand what work stress and emotional stress are and use practical tips and ways to - recognise the signs of work stress and emotional stress; identify your risk factors and protective factors; develop strategies for building resilience at work; devise a self-care plan for yourself.

The course is delivered by Nicole James who brings over 25 years of experience in creating and delivering training to the statutory, third and public service sectors at both the local and national level, in both the UK and the US. A skilled writer and designer, she has created numerous technical manuals and user guides that have been adopted nationally. As a trainer specialising in trauma and safeguarding related subjects, as well as Train-the-Trainer courses, Nicole has established a reputation as an enthusiastic, motivational trainer who inspires her attendees in both the physical and digital classrooms, and is able to bring personal experience and understanding to her courses. Nicole has a PGCE (First) and a BA Honours (First) in English and has served on numerous national task groups and initiatives across the UK and US.
