This event will cover the 3Rs that everyone involved in taking on an asset needs to think about - what Rights do we have as communities? What Resources are out there to help us in terms of funding? And, how will we bring in some Revenue to keep the asset sustainable?

Aimed primarily at community groups thinking about, or having newly taken on, an asset.

This event is Free to attend. Max 2 members per group. Staff from Relevant Authorities may want to attend and are welcome to sign up. Priority will however be given to community groups.

Outline programme:

10am - welcome

AM session RIGHTS- an overview of recent legislation enhancing community rights to acquire assets and what this means for your community

RESOURCES - outlining the key funders in acquiring and developing assets

11am - Coffee break

Accessing Funding - the commuity project journey (Speaker TBC) - pitfalls and top tips

1pm - 1:30 - Lunch

1:30 - 3pm - REVENUES - Is there a gap in that market?

An interactive and practical session looking at different asset examples from enterprising communities; indentifying key issues and what you can put in to practice in your own community.

3.15 - 4.10 pm - New Rural & Island Housing Fund

Rural Housing Scotland is hosting a seminar on the new Rural and Island Housing Fund. Information and support will be provided to organisations in Argyll, including what kind of projects are eligible, how to apply and how much grant is available. Rural Housing Scotland will also give details on how communities in other parts of Scotland have developed affordable housing in their own communities. Information from partner and other support organisations will also be available.
