THE CRANMER ANTHEM BOOK (II)

This is the second concert in an annual series to feature new works for an exciting, major commissioning project, The Cranmer Anthem Book.

This project will see new settings of each of the 88 Collects (or prayers) from the Book of Common Prayer, devised by Tudor Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer (1489–1556). These will be composed by some of the world’s leading composers.

As with last year’s initial concert, composers will introduce their works by recorded interview, offering a fascinating insight into the world of contemporary composition.
