Description

ANALOGOS

as above, so below

as below, so above

In ancient times it was believed that all beings were connected to the cosmos through vibrations. Microcosm and macrocosm, the inner and the outer. The perfection of heavens was a way of perfecting one’s soul and was reflected in the teachings of Greek intellectuals such as Pythagoras. The subjects of Arithmetic, Geometry, Harmony and Astronomy were considered as one, known as 'Quadrivium', and are still today some of the pinnacles of human intellect.

The movements of the heavenly bodies were reflected into music, thus assigning the seven musical notes to planets, the 7-step diatonic scale. Known as Musica Universalis, the ratios of the space between planets correspond to those between note intervals.

In this event we revive ideas from ancient charts through performance, condensing the vastness of the universe into a limited space. Such ideas derive from astrological, astronomical, mathematical, and philosophical concepts that permeated human thought for many centuries, particularly the Greek principle of proportion: ana (per), logos (ratio).

Please note that there are 12 categories of tickets, one for each zodiac sign which relates to the spatial arrangements of the performance.

Doors open 7.50pm
Doors close 8pm.
NO LATECOMERS WILL BE ADMITTED.
