On March 6th, 2018 distinguished Members of the European Parliament:
Paolo De Castro and Herbert Dorfmann
will host the workshop: “New standards in wine sustainability and transparency to consumers” . The event was initiated by the VIVA project and OPERA Research Center of UCSC and will benefit from the participation of representatives of the Italian Ministries for Environment and Agriculture, stakeholders of the value chain and European sector associations,
The objective of this meeting is to identify in dialog with all relevant stakeholder groups, activities in the wine sector to promote sustainable production within a holistic approach to include quality and socio-cultural importance of wine in Europe. To this end, the workshop will discuss on the role of the value chain actors and policy recommendations to promote wine sustainability and transparency to consumers in harmony with producer, consumer and society’s needs.
