These sessions are for all Sheffield SENCo's , including existing SENCo's that feel they need more guidance in carrying out their SEND role.

About this event

The aim of these 5 informal sessions is to provide support and information so that Sheffield colleagues who are involved in developing and leading SEND within their setting feel more confident about fulfilling their roles and responsibilities in line with the current SEND practice within Sheffield. These sessions are aimed at:

  • New SENCO's
  • Aspiring SENCOs
  • Assistant SENCOs
  • Inclusion Managers
  • Any SENCOs who feel that they need a ‘refresher!’

The programme consists of 5 individual sessions with a different theme each session. This course will cover the following topics:

  • The Code of Practice
  • Role of a SENCO
  • Ofsted and Sheffield Support Grid
  • Assess, Plan, Do Review’ process
  • Understanding The Graduated Approach documents
  • Outside agencies and Funding
  • Funding Panels
  • In depth look at Moderation of the SSG

  • Provision Mapping
  • SEN Policy
  • Information Report
  • Local Offer
  • Transition
  • EHCP Panels
  • SEN moderation- localities and city wide and Action Plan

The sessions will be held at Talbot Specialist School, Lees Hall Rd, S8 9JP 1.30pm-4.30pm – however Session 1 on 19th October will be a virtual training session to allow us to adhere to the guidelines re COVID 19. The remaining sessions will hopefully be delivered face-to-face. The Zoom link for accessing session 1 will be sent to you closer to the time.

Fusion SEND Hub is part of Talbot Specialist School in Sheffield. The aim of Fusion SEND hub is to improve the quality of professional practice and improve the learning experience for all learners. We offer centre based specialist accredited learning and learning focussed on developing inclusive classrooms and implementing tried and tested interventions. We are based in the Fusion SEND Hub, Talbot Specialist School, Lees Hall Road, S8 9JP and all our courses and briefings are hosted here unless otherwise stated. We can deliver bespoke training in individual schools and/or to a family of schools. We also offer on-going professional learning opportunities for class teachers, SENCOs and Teaching Assistants.

Invoicing and Cancellation Policy

Fusion SEND Hub asks course delegates to be aware of these business terms and conditions that apply to all bookings for the provision of training services.

Please note bookings will be treated as confirmed once a booking form has been received.

A confirmation email will be issued by Eventbrite upon receipt of your booking and an invoice will follow shortly for the full course fee. This must be paid in full, within 14 days of receiving the invoice. For late bookings payment must be made in full at the time of booking.

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing enquiries@fusionsendhub.co.uk. Whilst we appreciate there may be good reason for any cancellation, we reserve the right to charge if we do not receive notification within 14 days of a course start date, or 5 weeks notification in relation to Team Teach courses.

Substitutions can be considered with advanced notice, however, this is not always possible for Team Teach courses due to their individual terms and conditions.

All course fees paid, will be refunded in full, if a cancellation is made in writing (by emailing enquiries@fusionsendhub.co.uk ) prior to 14 days before a course start date.

Fusion SEND Hub reserves the right, at its absolute discretion and without liability, to cancel an advertised course due to insufficient numbers or through circumstances beyond the Fusion SEND Hub's reasonable control. In which event the liability of Fusion SEND Hub shall be limited to the return of all monies paid or an alternative date may be given.
