An event to share tools to overcome the universal challenges of consulting or engaging with young people. To conclude Leapfrog’s first major research project, Leapfrog at Lancaster University invites you to a highly interactive event from noon - 4pm on Thursday 25th February 2016 at ImaginationLancaster. Here we will share our new tools for effective engagement with young people.
The tools and resources have been co-designed in collaboration with public services, policy makers and young people. Through using and adapting these free tools for your own purposes, our aim is for the ideas and opinions of young people to be better heard in the design of public services, policies, places or projects.
Join us on the 25th February to:
- Hear the story of our first major research project
- Try out the new tools for fun and effective, engagement with young people
- Come up with ideas to adapt the tools for your specific engagement challenges
- Learn how to access the free digital and offline resources
Receive a copy of Leapfrog's brand new newspaper created by a group of eleven young co-designers aged between twelve and seventeen from Lancashire. Within the group there was a mix of young people in care, young carers and young people on the edge of care. The group were recruited by the charity Child Action Northwest (CANW) who provide services to support children, young people, families and communities and Blackburn and Darwen Borough Council. The newspaper includes the tools the group created to ensure their voices and the voices of other young people like them are heard when making decisions are being that affect them, and to inform improvements to services.
Lunch will be available from noon - 1pm. Vegetarian options will be freely available. If you have dietary requirements beyond this please Gemma at g.coupe1@lancaster.ac.uk.
The event is on the ground floor of the LICA building.
Leapfrog is an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project, part of the Connected Communites programme.
