Causing others to undertake enquiries training
This training package has been produced by the Stockport Safeguarding Adults Partnership to support all partners in our work to safeguard vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect.
The Care Act (2014) sets out statutory responsibilities around safeguarding adults with care and support needs. This includes how all local partners must work together as part of safeguarding enquiries.
In some instances, where an individual has experienced abuse or neglect, the local authority may cause partner agencies to undertake specific parts of the safeguarding enquiry. This does not remove the statutory responsibility of the local authority, but does ensure that the most appropriate professionals are involved and engaged in safeguarding enquiries.
This training will look at instances where you may be asked (or “caused”) to support with a part of the enquiry, what that will mean in practice, and what support you will receive as part of that work from the local authority.
Thank you for supporting this important work and helping to safeguard the adults of Stockport.
