New Wave Creatives is a supportive group for emerging artists and creatives aged 18–28. Whether you're studying in the arts, a recent graduate, or completely self-taught, this is your space to experiment, collaborate, and grow.
Join us for a monthly meet-up where you’ll develop new skills, connect with fellow artists, and take your work to the next level. Plus, with mentoring support from Jelly, you’ll gain insider knowledge and guidance to help shape your creative journey.
This is your space—let’s create.
This month join artist facilitator Brenda Goodchild for a hands-on creative session—connect, experiment, and collaborate with fellow artists aged 18 to 28
What's your favourite biscuit?
Get creative with a sweet twist! Inspired by Reading’s iconic Huntley & Palmers, this playful session invites you to explore biscuit-themed art using felt, pencils, and mixed media.
Design your own fantastical biscuits, craft quirky biscuit fonts, and take a closer look at these tasty treats as artistic inspiration.
And of course, we’ll wrap up with a tea party & biscuits—for munching or sketching!

Meet Our New Wave Facilitator: Brenda Goodchild
Brenda Goodchild holds the space for New Wave Creatives, offering creative sparks to inspire and encourage artistic exploration. She focuses on creating a calm, playful, and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable to take part in a way that works for them.
Brenda graduated with a BA (Hons) in Illustration in 2008 and has since worked as a community artist, leading mural projects with young children and NGOs to enhance public spaces and address social injustices. Her work also explores themes of politics, the environment, and identity through detailed pen and pencil illustrations.
In 2011, Brenda was awarded the Olive Morris Award for her community art and graphic design projects focused on social issues. After spending a decade as an art educator, she is now training as an art psychotherapist, using creativity to help young people navigate trauma and personal challenges.
