New Year, Fresh Start: Setting Goals Together
Overview
A new year often comes with a lot of pressure to “start over” or set big resolutions, but real change doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and it doesn’t have to happen alone.
Join us for this free supportive workshop! Maambo’s peer-led space focused on starting the year with clarity, intention, and self-compassion. Through shared reflection and conversation, we’ll explore what the last year has taught us, what matters most to us right now, and how peer support can help us move forward with confidence.
Hosted by our trusted mentor Poppy, we will explore:
• What a “fresh start” really means (and letting go of unrealistic pressure)
• Why New Year’s resolutions often don’t last
• How to set realistic, values-based goals
• Breaking goals down into manageable, achievable steps
• How peer support can help with motivation, accountability, and perspective
• Staying flexible and kind to ourselves when life doesn’t go to plan
This session isn’t about fixing yourself or doing everything perfectly. It’s about connecting with others, learning from shared experiences, and realising that progress is often easier and more sustainable when we don’t do it alone.
Whether you’re feeling hopeful, unsure, or completely stuck, this workshop offers a calm, non-judgemental, safe space to reset, refocus, and take your next steps forward with the support of a peer mentor.
