New Year Pea Fair
Overview
Our Pea Fair is similar to a village fete, whereby each family has a stall, and everyone is a customer. The difference is that no money exchanges hands. Instead, you are given chickpeas to use as currency.
Each family has a table with chairs behind - this is their 'stall'. Everyone receives a cup filled with dried chickpeas, which is used as currency.
Each family gets to choose what they do/sell on their table and selects the number of peas to trade: 3p/5p, etc.
Your family can choose to do anything on your stall: playing a game like Guess Who, Kerpluk, cards, homemade cakes/cookies, face painting, hair braiding, nail painting, guessing the number of sweets in a jar, tombola, homemade crafts, magic tricks, a challenge, making slime, the list is endless….anything goes!
Family members take turns to ‘man’ the stall whilst the rest visit other families' stalls to spend their chickpeas. It’s really fun and a great way to make new friends without the pressure of money being involved!
Book one ticket per family/table.
We kindly ask for a £4 cash donation per table, payable at the door, to help cover the cost of the pavilion room hire.
