New Year Sound Bath Relaxation
Event Information
About this event
Join me for a veryspecial early evening Sound Bath Relaxation in at the Literary Institute in Egham. There is parking at Tesco nearby, accessible via Hummer Road.
A Sound Bath is a relaxing, meditative immersion in healing sound. Relaxing deeply calms the nervous system and lets your body and mind find their natural balance. You rest on a mat on the floor or on a recliner chair (bring your own) for the duration of the session, and many participants fall asleep. Please consider whether you're able to recline or lie comfortably for 50 minutes when booking, and also please note that the minimum participant age is 16. Minors will be accompanied by a responsible adult.
During a Sound Bath I typically use a gong, singing bowls, chimes, my voice and other instruments to lead you on a journey through sound. Participants experience the vibrations and frequencies of the sound inside their body and around them, and it can be a profound feeling - like a sonic massage. There is a period of relaxation at the start of the session, and a few minutes for 'waking up' at the end. This may be most relaxed you've been for months!
Bring your yoga/Pilates mat, camping mattress, camp bed or comfy recliner chair, a blanket/sleeping bag, an eye mask and a cushion, and a bottle of water – basically everything you need to be as comfortable as possible during the session. I'm not able to provide mats, blankets or eye masks at present due to Covid-19 restrictions. You're advised to wear comfortable warm clothing. If you're cold you probably won't enjoy it so much!
