New Year... We Still Hope! Peace and Justice in the Jewish New Year 5786
Join Na'amod NW to reflect on the challenges of the past year and envision a sweeter future, for our second annual community new year event. We'll begin by walking to the nearby River Irwell to symbolically cast away violence, occupation and war in a Rosh Hashanah 'tashlich' ceremony. Afterwards, we'll look towards the future, making commitments to work for peaceful coexistence. To finish, we'll build community over delicious food from Palestinian chef Said.
Na'amod is a national movement of British Jews standing against occupation and apartheid, seeking to mobilise our community in support of freedom, equality and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis.
Free to attend; donations will be collected to support families in Gaza.
* Kid-friendly: all ages welcome!
** Working Class Movement Library is an accessible venue, with an entry ramp and accessible toilet. The walk to River Irwell will be less than 10 minutes each way, along paved pathways. In case of rain, please bring an umbrella!
*** The venue is located opposite Salford Uni, near Salford Crescent train station. Buses 35, 36, 37, 38, 50, 67, 100, V1, V2 and V4. Bike racks and free parking available.
