About this event
For over 900 years, Newcastle Cathedral – originally the Parish Church of St Nicholas – has been at the pulsing heart of Newcastle.
On this tour, you will be shown architectural details and told stories about some of the historical characters connected to this sacred space.
Find out about our connections to Cuthbert Collingwood, Nelson’s right-hand man; press gang master John Bover, and coal merchant and entrepreneur Dame Jane Clavering.
This tour starts in the Cathedral Nave, beside the medieval font, and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
This tour is fully wheelchair accessible. Tickets cost £5 and are available via Eventbrite. While there may be some tickets available on the day, we recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
