Event description
Take a dip in Portishead Marina and be rescued by a huge Newfoundland rescue dog, while raising funds for animals in need!

About this event

Bath Cats and Dogs Home are thrilled to be able to offer this once in a lifetime experience - discover what it’s like to be rescued ‘at sea’ by a Newfoundland rescue dog whilst raising funds for animals in need.

You will be suited up, taken out to the water by boat and then asked to jump in, but don’t worry, it won’t be long before the Newfoundland dogs show off their amazing water-rescue skills and tow you safely back to dry land. This exhilarating experience is an event like no other and one you certainly won’t forget!

About Newfoundland Rescue Dogs

Newfoundland dogs are known for their giant size, intelligence, strength and loyalty. They excel at water rescue because of their muscular build, thick double coat, webbed feet, and innate swimming abilities. The event is run by the incredible team at Newfound Friends & their well trained and beautiful Newfoundland Dogs, on behalf of Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Newfound Friends have been organising rescue days for over 25 years and have so far raised over £1 million for UK charities. The event is kindly supported by Portishead Quays Marina.
