Newport Youth Work Strategy – Follow-Up Meeting

Focus for this meeting:

1. Share feedback from attendees on the event and current progress. (Feedback has now been collected and will be shared during the session to inform us of the next steps.)
2. Develop the collaborative group governance structure and shared values
3. Discuss and agree on the operating principles and structure of each core group
4. Explore possible funding options to support implementation
5. Confirm group membership and next actions

Following the initial strategy meeting, the intention was to form and confirm the membership of four core groups:

1. Strategy Group
2. Data & Communications Group
3. Workforce Development Group
4. Youth Voice & Participation Group

Agenda:

1. Welcome and introductions

4. Agree group structures and responsibilities
5. Identify and prioritise potential funding opportunities
6. Confirm group membership and actions
7. AOB / accountability check-in

Shaping the Future of Youth Work in Newport event showcased the energy, insight, and commitment within Newport’s youth work community. From outlining system-level reforms to making deeply personal pledges, stakeholders are ready to build a future where young people are seen, heard, and supported. This strategy development process marks not an end, but a beginning—one of bold collaboration, shared leadership, and continuous improvement.
