Event description

Description

The News’ Business Excellence Awards recognise, reward and celebrate all the successful businesses and professional individuals within Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

All winners of these prestigious awards will be announced at a gala black tie dinner at the Guildhall Portsmouth on Friday February 1 2019. Reception drinks will be served at 6.45 pm with a call to dinner at 7.20 pm.

The dinner will be three courses with half a bottle of wine per person served at the table.

Our host for the evening will be TV reporter and investigative journalist Nick Wallis. Presentation of the awards will follow dinner and the evening will conclude with celebration music and dancing until midnight.



MENU

Please note that all vegetarian meals and special dietary requirements are to be pre- ordered at the time of purchasing tickets or before Wednesday January 23 2019.

Starter

Goat’s Cheese & Beetroot (v) A beets & blackcurrant emulsion with red chicory, apple & beetroot crisps, fresh garden peas, pickled radish, golden beetroot & goat’s cheese topped with edible flowers & beetroot powder

Main

Beef Wellington – Pan fried filet mignon steak brushed in mustard and rolled in a savory pancake with mushroom duxelle wrapped in crispy puff pastry.

Served with dauphinoise potatoes, grilled asparagus and cherry vine tomatoes with a red wine reduction.

Dessert

A trio of mini chocolate desserts – Double chocolate mousse, white chocolate and raspberry mousse and chocolate and orange tartlette


Vegetarian Option

Starter

Pickled vegetable and quinoa salad - Pickled radishes, carrots & shallots in a micro herb salad with herb infused quinoa served with a herb infused yoghurt dressing

Main

Cumin, butternut squash, mushroom and lentil Wellington

Served with dauphinoise potatoes, grilled asparagus and cherry vine tomatoes with a red wine reduction.

Dessert

A trio of mini chocolate desserts – Double chocolate mousse, white chocolate and raspberry mousse and chocolate and orange tartlette
