Join us at The Blue Lion, East Witton, Yorkshire for an inspiring and energising conversation with the next generation of talent transforming the food and hospitality industry. This panel shines a light on young women at the start of their careers, from apprentices to early-stage entrepreneurs and rising stars in kitchens, farms, and food businesses across Yorkshire.

Expect fresh perspectives, honest conversations, and big ideas for the future of food. We'll explore what drives this new wave of changemakers, the challenges they’re navigating, and how they’re reimagining success on their own terms.

Whether you're an industry leader, educator, or fellow newcomer, this session is a chance to listen, learn, and support the future voices of food.

MEET THE PANELLISTS

Olivia Longthorn, Events Coordinator, The Blue Lion

Olivia has been working in hospitality since she was 15, starting out in a little independent restaurant. Since then, she has tried her hand at just about everything- bar work, housekeeping, and plenty of time front of house (quickly learning to balance a tray of glasses and carry multiple plates at one time!).

Over time, Olivia realised hospitality is so much more than just taking orders and serving food. Working at the Blue Lion for the past year and a half has been especially meaningful, as she gets to work with – and for – her mum, which makes it even more special. Alongside that, moving into weddings and events has opened a whole new side of the industry for her – one where she can still get to enjoy those customer interactions, but also add a creative twist by helping bring someone’s special day to life.

For Olivia, hospitality is an industry she genuinely enjoys and she can see herself continuing with for years to come along side her family- specifically her mum. Whether it’s waiting tables with a smile or helping create unforgettable celebrations, Olivia feels lucky to be part of those little moments that make people’s days brighter.
