Event description

Description

Trouble turning heels? Finding sock knitting a bit tricky at times? Want some inspiration from someone who really knows their stuff? The truly talented Rachel Coopey of Coop Knits, sock designer extraordinaire, will host this session where participants will knit a sampler of the following techniques:

• an cast on method to knit a toe up sock

• two heel methods - a short row heel and an afterthought heel

• a surprisingly stretchy bind off

• a sewn bind off

The samples can then be used as reference when knitting sock patterns at home.

The workshop will be held in our Chapel Allerton shop, at 180 Harrogate Road, Leeds, LS7 4NZ

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Chapel Allerton has a frequent bus service from Leeds city centre - catch the 2, 3, or 3A from opposite Kirkgate Market or 36 from the bus station. Ask for Chapel Allerton, there is a stop just after the junction with the Yorkshire Bank. If you are coming from Headingley you can catch the 91 bus from Grove Lane. Parking in front of the shop is free for an hour. There are nearby streets behind the shop with free parking that will be a 2-5min walk to the shop that you can park all day.

Is there disabled access?

There are a few steps to gain access to our shop, and some steps inside too. We need to know in advance if you have a problem with stairs. We will always try to be flexible and to accommodate your needs if we can, so give us as much notice as possible and we will try to make arrangements.

What do I need to bring to the event?

Sock sizes needles 2.25-2.75mm, either dpns or a long circular for magic loop.

What skill level is this workshop?

Participants must be able to knit confidently in the round and will have knitted a basic sock before.

What about lunch and refreshments?

Tea or coffee will be provided free of charge as part of the workshop.

You can either bring your own lunch with you, pop out to one of the local cafes or shops, or pre-order (not included in the workshop fee) from our lovely local cafe menu to have your lunch delivered on the day.

***We will send a separate email a week before your workshop with the menu. If you would like to order lunch please reply to this email directly. Payment will be taken on the day of the workshop.***

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Yes you can transfer your ticket, but you need to re-register on Eventbrite - details on how to do this are here.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes please!

What is the refund policy?
